Though this role earned her huge popularity yet she felt that the portrayal as Mary Camden as a good girl would limit her ability to act. To change this image, she appeared on the Gear cover, partially clothed. Jessica's move caused discord among her followers. Following her appearance on the season 6 of 7th Heaven, Jessica left. The performance she gave a deservedly high-five as Casey Jackson, a teenage girl, in Ulee's Gold that brought her fame. The film actually earned her the award for Best Supporting Actress of the Year. Summer Catch is a great example of her talent. Even with her amazing performance Rules of Attraction was not a big hit. The horror film The Texas Chainshaw Massacre brought her into the spotlight to the attention of the general public. Also, she has worked in thrillers and suspense movies.
